Fort Wayne Trails

Fort Wayne Trails is a longstanding client, and Josh actually worked for them as the Operations Coordinator and Grant Writer for many years. We worked on the original iteration of their site around 2018, and this refresh and rebuild brought numerous improvements.

Other than a more modern look and feel, we made a concerted effort to improve the Trail Projects page to provide more dynamic filters and to create individual pages for every project. As this is one of the things users are most interested in, we wanted to ensure more information could be found more quickly, and that FW Trails staff could enter the data in the admin panel more easily as well.

Behind the scenes, the website also provides a feed of data to the Trails app. The various layers of trail data (existing trails, planned trails, bike lanes, etc.), sponsors, and other messages are served from an API at the site, and an endpoint for user maintenance issues to be reported exists as well.

We’ve always loved the trails and we’re happy to keep supporting them by creating and maintaining their site.
